Our Services

Personalized and quality care.

At Central Chiro we aim to provide stellar care to every patient. No two bodies are the same and for that reason each patient's care is tailored to their specific needs. Although we all have the same parts, they may not necessarily communicate in the same way.  With our research based methods, we endeavour to positively impact the quality of the life you're living and the body you're living it in.

Dry Needling Treatment

$59

Dry needling is a therapeutic muscle technique used to target deeper tissues in muscles by precisely inserting a very thin sterile needle into a trigger point (knot). Dry needling is fast and effective in addressing muscle pain and tightness.

Chiropractor treatment

Combined Treatment

$99

The combination of chiropractic adjustments and dry needling may have compounded benefits as compared to either alone. The adjustments address joint stiffness and restrictions, and the dry needling addresses the muscle and soft tissue components.

Treatment Techniques Used in our Practice

Dr. Petersen is highly skilled in activator, Thompson drop, and diversified chiropractic, dry needling and myofascial release techniques. A portion of treatment time is dedicated to releasing muscles and soft tissue prior to the adjustment. The activator method involves the use of a handheld adjusting instrument to deliver a low-force movement to a joint. This is an especially effective technique in cases where low force is necessary, such as when treating children, senior patients, and those with conditions such as osteoporosis. The Thompson Drop technique involves elevating the portion of the chiropractic table below the lower back and pelvis, and then a quick thrust is applied over the pelvic joints, causing the table below to drop. The diversified technique involves the chiropractor manually maneuvering the body to create physical movement in the joints. This may be accompanied by a 'cracking or popping' sound.

Our practice also offers basic exercise rehabilitation and lifestyle advice to encourage healing and promote better functioning of the musculoskeletal system. Relief of pain is important, but the human body is multifaceted, composed of muscles, ligaments, joints, bones, etc. By addressing poor lifestyle habits and strengthening supporting muscles, the body is not only less prone to injury and dysfunction but able to recover quicker.
